Getting Started with TriCaster® TC1 Chapter 1: Hardware and Connections

Richard Evans of the NewTek Video Production Team takes us on a tour of the TriCaster® TC1 hardware. A key feature of the TC1 system is that the components communicate with each other over standard networks, instead of proprietary cables or computer peripheral ports such as USB.

TriCaster TC1 Long Panel Control Surface, Ethernet Port, Power Port

The TC1 Long Panel Control Surface, for example, has only a network port and a power port. This is true IP-based production.

The tour covers the full complement of ports. For the TC1 this includes:

  • 4 x 3G/HD/SD-SDI input connections supporting video input in any combination of standard formats, resolutions, and frame rates
  • Genlock input supporting SD (Bi-level) or HD (Tri-level) reference signals
  • 4 x 3G/HD/SD-SDI output connections, optionally configurable for:
    • 4 x 独立型3G/HD/SDビデオミックス出力
    • 1 x 3G-SDI 4連結グルーピングによる4K UHD ビデオミックス出力
  • 2 x 1 ギガビット NIC

  • 1 x PS2 on back panel
  • Output for Interface and Multiviewers
    • 1 x DVI for User Interface and Multiviewer
    • 1 x HDMI for Multiviewer
    • 1 x DisplayPort for Multiviewer
  • 1 x HD15 GPI connector for Tally
